Hand Surgeons

HAND SURGEON'S X-RAY   We have a really unique approach to solving a problem for a small orthopedic office that specializes in hand surgery, but also includes a spinal specialist.  This approach would also solve many sports medicine applications and could be coupled with a small medical table with a little more floor space.  Our client had very little space for an x-ray machine and a darkroom however because of the composition of the doctors, they needed primarily a nice setup for upper extremity radiography as well as wishing to produce a film of a lumbar spine.  The power applications to accomplish these tasks are very different.  We could have accommodated the hand surgeon's needs with a portable x-ray and its inherent low power, but then the back specialist would not be able to use it.  Since the room was very small, there was not room for a general medical package.  We came up with a solution using HCMI's high frequency generator coupled with a tilting wall grid cabinet, and a floor to wall tubestand.  the doctors chose not to go digital at this time, but it is easily converted to CR in the future and the darkroom will also become a suitable workstation room if so desired.  In the meantime, we put the controller in the darkroom with a sliding panel over the lead glass window.  All in all this is a very efficient layout and solves everyone's needs for a very reasonable price.  The following are some pictures of the room and the staff.
