The Original INNOVET Outline drawing. The original Summit INNOVET has been the most successful veterinary x-ray machine of all time. The INNOVET was the first x-ray designed by a team consisting of Summit Engineering, Marketing, x-ray dealers (including Roy Duncan from Les Wilkins), and veterinarians. The Summit Marketing manager, at the time, was a woman and she helped conceive the pleasing design and graphics schedule that set the standard for modern x-ray equipment (if us guys would have designed the graphics it would probably have been "gun metal blue" or "battleship gray"). This team came up with the concept of a compact easy to use x-ray with most of the conveniences demanded by the veterinary community. An additional requirement was reasonable cost. The INNOVET has become a "classic" in its own time. The original version is still available (without the film bin which has been eliminated) and has proven to be one of the toughest x-ray machines ever designed. We had an INNOVET installed in Tillamook, OR. that was flooded when a dam broke in 1997. This x-ray was completely soaked in flood water for some time. When the water receded, the muddy cleanup began. We cleaned the machine with q tips, sponges, lots of water and WD40. The autotransformer was dried with a hair dryer overnight on low power and the following day the machine was brought to life. It continues to work everyday and has not missed a beat. Talk about a tough x-ray, the INNOVET has proven to be a winner. The controls for KVP (major and minor) MA and time are easily accessible from the tilt out control panel. The display for KVP and MAS are mounted on the tubestand for easy operator display. Thus techniques are easy to read and setup. A sonalert tone tells the operator upon completion of the x-ray exposure. A footswitch is included with all INNOVET. An optional 10:1 grid and tie downs are available as low cost options. Although generally superseded by the INNOVET Select, the original INNOVET is still available and known as "The Classic" or just "INNOVET". Please call us if you need additional information. POWER REQUIREMENTS: The INNOVET Classic requires 70 amps of 207 - 250 VAC single phase power from a 37 KVA distribution transformer. No neutral is required. Last updated 2/01/07 |
