Les Wilkins & Assoc., Inc. In order for us to install your x-ray in a timely fashion, we All electrical service and associated electrical disconnect must be completed by your electrician with appropriate wiring installed per national electric code. The disconnect must be in the approximate location specified during construction by our service department or as specified by the architects drawing (if they consulted us for x-ray electrical details). We are pleased to make the connection to the disconnect box from the x-ray control with the factory supplied power cable. If unsure, please contact us. The floor must be level and the finish floor installed. All room painting should be completed. In addition, your darkroom must be up and running so that we can run alignment films. If you have a processor or dip tanks we must have access to them at the end of calibration. If we are installing your new processor, the darkroom must be ready for installation including a "light tight" door and ceiling, flooring and plumbing installed and an electrical 15 amp outlet for the processor. We install during normal working hours, typically 9 to 5 PM. We try not to start a job on Mondays or Fridays. We do not work on weekends, holidays or generally "after hours". Most jobs are completed on time or ahead of schedule. Occasionally, something unknown happens (such as concealed freight damage or missing parts) that can delay an installation. Many construction jobs have their estimated completion date slip because of typical construction delays. Once you have advised us of when you want your x-ray equipment delivered and it has left the factory, we cannot stop the delivery. If you wish to change your estimated delivery date to a later date, we need to be notified at least a week in advance of that delivery date to hold it at the factory.
FREIGHT SHIPMENTS Your x-ray equipment is sold FOB factory. In legal terms that means that you take title to the equipment when it leaves the manufacturers dock. Insurance is provided, however if any damage occurs during shipping, it is up to you to file a claim in a timely fashion with the shipping carrier. The carrier is acting as your agent, and you have the right to request shipping via any means that you desire. We generally ship with CONWAY as they are providing us with the best rates. Although we are often on site at the time of delivery so we can begin installation immediately, that is not always possible, especially for out of State jobs. If that is the case, please inspect the cartons and count the number of boxes. They must match the count on the freight bill. Before you sign, inspect the cartons with the driver. If they look OK, then sign the bill. If they are crushed or punctured, then check for damage as best you can. Note on the bill cartons are crushed and possibly damaged. If you can see there is obvious damage, note it on the bill you sign with the driver and request a claims inspector. You must also save the shipping cartons for the inspector. Once you sign the freight bill (bill of lading) and the driver departs, your rights to claim damage diminish significantly because you signed the freight as "accepted". If you subsequently find "concealed damage" be sure to call the carrier back promptly and request a claims inspector. If you do have damage, be sure to notify our office at once so that we may assist you to some extent. Most of the time our freight arrives undamaged, but you must know the correct procedure in case it does not. Roy Duncan, President Rduncan@Leswilkins.com |
