Les Wilkins, founder, 1912 - 2004: Les Wilkins had the experience and desire to convert a troubled, small surgical supply company, formerly the Fred Biel Co., into a complete medical equipment company. Mr. Wilkins had been active in LWA from the 1950s until he retired in 1999. Les was a 2nd team All American football player at Univ of Pittsburgh and played in the 1933 Rose Bowl. He coached several championship little league teams in the early 1950s in Seattle and was an active golfer at Sand Point Country Club in Seattle for decades. Les passed away peaceable at the age of 91.
Roy Duncan Roy M. Duncan, President & CEO: Roy Duncan has worked for LWA for over 32 years. A Seattle native, he holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington. Roy is a qualified x-ray shielding designer for the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Montana and provides shielding design plans for many architectural firms as well as many hospitals and university research facilities. Roy has owned LWA for the past several years. Soccer, skiing, golf and blue grass banjo are the passions. Roy can be Emailed at Rduncan@Leswilkins.com. Dave Shipe, General Manager: Dave is a Seattle native and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in business. Dave worked for Professional Vet Distributing for 15 years before joining LWA. Dave has been General Manager for LWA for the past few years and has been a fixture at LWA for over 17 years and is a general problem solver in the organization. Dave brings a vast knowledge of specialized veterinary products to LWA. Dave's hobbies include rock & roll music (deadhead extraordinaire), and pit bulls (the nice ones). Merle Harris, Book Keeping Manager: Merle brings an extensive background of accounting a managing the finances of a small business. Her nickname is Speed and she idles at "Mach 1". Merle is also a concert cellist with the Bellevue Symphony.
Patci McNamee, Order Processing: Patci is responsible for order entry and inside sales assistance. Patci has a teaching degree from the University of Washington. Patci has been with LWA for 8 years and formerly worked for Professional Vet Distributing where she served for 18 years. She has an infectious sense of humor that delights all who work with her. Terry Purdy, Sales Terry Purdy, Regional Sales Associate: Terry Purdy joined Les Wilkins in 1996 after 8 years at Professional Vet Distributing. A former Navy Pilot from the Viet Nam era, Terry brings a professional approach to problem solving and his clients. Terry is from Boise Idaho, and still has family in the Treasure Valley. Terry is responsible for sales in Oregon, Southern Idaho, and Western Washington and can be Emailed at Topsea@comcast.net Terry is active in local bicycle clubs.
Ed Kline Ed Kline, Sales & Service Representative, has over twenty years of experience in the sales and service of radiographic and film processing equipment in the Northwest. Ed has a technical background from the military where he served as an avionics technician in the USMC. Originally from the Seattle area, Ed moved to Spokane in 1992 where he lives with his wife. Ed was with the former Pacific X-ray of Portland for many years. He is responsible for sales and service of radiographic equipment in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho and Montana. Current interests include a collection of parrots, basset hounds, and the gradual restoration of a '49 Dodge pickup. Ed has extensive high frequency x-ray service experience.
Duane Frost, Service Department: Duane has been with LWA for 12 years. He began his career in shipping and became interested in film processors and joining the service organization. Duane has been to school for AFP, Ecomat & Konica film processors and is very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of their table top machines. Duane is responsible for several biotech accounts at the University of Washington as well as the athletic training room. In addition, he is now certified to install INNOVET X-rays and perform routine maintenance and calibration. Duane is an active "board head" and enjoys the weekends snowboarding in the Cascades. Duane is a "pure purple" University of Washington Husky and is married to a "pure crimson" WSU graduate. Apple cup is an interesting time in the Frost home. Jason McNamee, Technician: Jason joined us full time at the beginning of 2006. He is qualified to install, service and repair most major brands of film processors.
